Our Mission

The mission of the Mahtomedi Area Volleyball Association (MAVA) is to increase the skill level and competitiveness of the Mahtomedi High School Varsity Volleyball program. This means providing the highest level of coaching, instruction, and competition possible. The success of the Varsity program begins with the development of even the youngest teams.

We have been working behind the scenes in preparation for our upcoming 2023/24 MAVA season. Improvements and changes are due to feedback from previous seasons and the addition of new board members who give us more time and energy to dig in (pun intended). MAVA is growing quickly and we would invite anyone to reach out if you’re interested in learning more about how to help keep the club moving forward.  A few things to look forward to this season;

• Updated tryout structure and schedule to utilize outside evaluators and more closely follow established club sport processes. Further details in our handbook.
• Fresh and returning coaching staff with HS and club level experience
• Brand new sublimated jerseys
• Line judge and score keeping training for teams
• Support equipment to promote skill development during practice
• New Board positions created
